Our team has provided a list of our most commonly-asked self storage questions! We’ll help you store your stuff like a pro.
- What is self storage and how does it work?
Renting a storage unit is a great solution to clear up some much-needed space at home or to hold much needed business items. All of our storage facilities offer clean, secure storage solutions at affordable prices.
- Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?
Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, perishables, and other items covered in the lease agreement. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.
- What is the best way to pack a unit?
Larger and more infrequently used items should go in the back of the unit. Remember to keep a walkway in the center of your unit to more easily access items. Always keep items labeled and a list of items stored, even a photo on the outside of each box will allow you to "see" what's inside.

- Do I need to bring a lock from home?
Yes! Bring along a sturdy lock to protect your storage unit, or purchase an industry-approved disc lock in our office.
- What are some helpful tips for moving into my unit?
We pride ourselves on making things as simple as possible for our customers. For helpful tips on packing and organizing your unit, head on over to our storage tips page.
- How do I move out?
Remove all items and the lock so we can confirm your move out. All tenants are required to vacate the premises no later than their allowed grace cycle, which is 5 days after your rental term.
- When can I access my storage unit?
You can access your unit once payment has been submitted for the 1st month. Our gate hours are from 6 AM to 9:30 PM, 7 days a week.
- Do you sell moving supplies?
We sell small, medium & large boxes to help make your move stress-free!

- What do I need to rent a unit?
You’ll need a state ID card or driver's license in order to complete your rental. You can rent online or stop by our offices. The move in process takes no longer than 10 minutes to complete in person!
- What size storage unit do I need?
Have a look at our size guide or stop by our offices for a tour. We’ll help you find the right size for your belongings!
- Are there any administrative fees?
Yes. There’s a $15 admin fee when you move in. We also require tenant insurance to better protect your belongings. We offer Storsmart tenant insurance starting at $9.00, but you can show us proof of private insurance instead!
- What do your storage units typically cost?
Our units usually range from $40 to $195 monthly, excluding tenant insurance and our admin fee.
- What kind of coverage can I get through your tenant insurance?
Storsmart insurance features four tiers of coverage. It’s $9.00 for $2000 coverage; $13 for $3000 coverage; $22 for $5000 coverage; and $32 for $7500 coverage.
